[There isn't even an answering machine message here, only some horrible recreation of the theme from that one SBaHJ video he did made completely of clips of different bird calls.]
[He doesn't wake up right away, as he usually does when startled. He just stirs a little, wing fluttering under her touch, and then he slowly opens his eyes. When he sees her, he rolls away from Snoop with a sleepy grunt and rubs his eyes with the palm of his hand, dislodging his shades.]
Xion. Hey, 's like fuck o'clock in the morning. 'Sup?
[His free hand seeks hers out blindly as a yawn cracks his jaw.]
[ When she catches his hand, she doesn't simply hold it as she might normally. She shifts closer so she can pull his hand to her face, bowing her head as she presses the back of it to her cheek, and does not reply. ]
[He sits up to see her better, letting his shades fall back into place as he reaches to carefully, gently touch the curve of her jaw with his other hand.]
[ Xion shakes her head when he brushes fingers over her jaw, huffing a breath through her nose that only just manages to sound like a laugh. She'll lift her chin enough for him to be able to see the faint smile on her lips. ]
You know, it's only been half a day... but with everything that's happened, I feel like I haven't seen you in a long time, somehow.
[He moves to curl close around her, that free arm settling around her back. His wings don't quite encircle her yet, but his feathers graze her elbows, light. He nestles in, warm.]
You're gonna smell like nasty bird ass if you stay here.
[But he doesn't even start to let go. After a pause, he asks:]
[ Instantly she folds herself into him like a flower opening to the warmth of the sun. ]
I don't care.
[ She really doesn't. She doesn't care about anything that isn't being with him right now. ]
... I don't know. I don't know how I feel about anything. I'm confused... and it's been such a long night. I wish I'd never left the house today. Maybe then things wouldn't have gotten so bad.
[ They both know she's got too free a spirit to ever just stay in the house like that. But she says nothing, pressing an absent kiss to his jaw when he nuzzles her. ]
... they are. They're both really good people, Dave. And I've missed Roxas so much. They don't want to hurt me. You know that, right?
[His hand tightens behind her back--tenses, as the line of his shoulders does, too, a little. He isn't just afraid for her sake. Something about the thought is personal for him, too.]
But that doesn't mean they can't. 'M sorry for freaking out.
... it's okay. Just ... be nice from now on, okay? [ She smiles weakly. She can feel his fear in the way he holds her, and it echoes the scared flutter of her heart in her chest. But she needs to try, not just for his sake, but her own. ]

[He settles himself comfortably, quietly nudging her bangs out of her face with his nose.]
They seem nice.

[He kisses her temple as he speaks, pressing just a faint smile against her hair.]
