OUTLINE SO FAR:

> Xion and Dave (Team Sabersprite), on the basis of Waver's previous post about Team Seph, engage them when they see Sephiroth patrolling the city by air. They decide to try to lure Seph into a more secluded area but only make it as far as the stables.
> The fight begins - Davesprite vs. Sephiroth, with Xion and Elena on the sidelines.
> WHILE THAT IS HAPPENING, Xion contacts Waver and Lamont (Team Eyebrows and Hair)
> Waver then contacts Roxy (Team Robots), and Saber (Team Big Guns). Roxy contacts Dirk.
> Team Eyebrows and Hair arrive on scene.
> Triple tagging between Davesprite, Seph, and Waver. Lamont uses a Command Seal on Waver to give him a boost.
> Xion and Lamont are well out of the way, and likely also discussing things.
> THE FATAL BLOW IS STRUCK
> Elena uses a Command Seal to keep Sephiroth from going after Xion.
> Team Robots and Team Big Guns arrive just in time to see that happen. (Is Waver out of commission at this point as well?) I guess this is where they step in to keep Sephiroth busy while...
> Davesprite dies (three-way thread with Xion and Dirk).
> Sephiroth uses Supernova, and Tieria likely also uses his Noble Phantasm. Seph and Elena get away while everyone else scatters.

What Asher and I discussed above is that, whilst scouting, Xion and Davesprite run into Sephiroth and Elena. They know he needs to be stopped but they don't have the firepower to do it alone. Davesprite engages while Xion contacts whoever she thinks relevant - maybe Dirk, definitely Waver.

Maybe Xion and Davesprite start their scouting BECAUSE of Waver's post about his fight with Sephiroth. That would tie everything together nicely.

Hm, that does sound like it would work. And even if Xion didn't contact him, Waver's SOMEONE IS DOING SOMETHING STUPID IN THE NAME OF A CUP senses would tingle, and he's show up yelling "for fuck's sake!"

HAHAHA god. okay. EITHER WAY WORKS FOR ME! is he going to show up while the fight is still in progress or after the mortal blow has been struck?

Hm, that can go either way, and can be read of one of two ways:

1. Team Sabersprite was reckless, but tried, and Waver showed up just a moment too late to help
OR
2. Team Sabersprite started a fight, called in for back up when they were outgunned, back up showed up but also wasn't enough, and the mortal blow is struck after a good effort was made.

I'm erring towards two because it establishes just how much of a threat Seph is, makes that death even harder because of the greater effort put into it, and reinforces how fucked up everything is.

I'm also leaning towards option 2. Davesprite and Xion are both generally fairly cautious kids and would know to ask for help. They may only be able to contact a couple people on their own on account of fighting for their lives. If Waver's the one that ends up contacting, say, Saber et al, that might work out better: Sephiroth gets to trounce both Team Sabersprite and Team Princess Hair and Eyebrows before Team WOW YOU LADIES ARE TERRIFYING shows up.

and that would save Xion from having to contact another group in the heat of the battle! Meaning her list is now: Waver and Dirk/Roxy.

I actually also like door number 2. So I'm more than happy to go with that if Asher is! Roxy and Tieria and Dirk will show up a few minutes after that, while Davesprite is dying. And then there's just a big mess of people hanging around. I guess Sephiroth and Elena will have to abscond?

BUT YEAH I TOTALLY AGREE. It's so much worse this way, which means I am 1000% on board.

And in terms of contacts, I think now it's working like: Xion contacts Waver, Waver contacts Roxy and Saber. Roxy brings Dirk and Saber brings the party. Does that work for you in terms of having Waver contact people?

I was picturing that as probably a three-person thread between Davesprite, Xion, and Dirk. Possibly two two-person threads, depending on how much private bro time Fee would like, since I'm not terribly fussy about the continuity of gross sobbing death threads.

(Last year poor Dirk died in the arms of like five different people because of different threads it was kind of hilarious if you stepped back far enough from it)

I have no real input on this point! I think this depends more on what Sephiroth and Elena's mun's would like to do in terms of wrapping that battle up.
